Obasanjo Denies Endorsing Buhari

Image
After Obasanjo reportedly endorsed Buhari with Buhari even commenting on the endorsement on CNN, the former president has denied endorsing any candidate ..Obasanjo made the clarification during the launch of his 1,500-page autobiography, ‘My Watch’ in London, “I didn’t endorse or unendorse him as such. What I said and I will say it again and I will do it: when the time comes for me to vote, I will consider the track record of all the candidates that are contesting and I will assess and based on my assessment, whoever I believe has the best track record to perform the job of the Nigerian president will have my vote. “If anybody should know what the job of the Nigerian president requires, I should know. Nigeria has a population of 180 million and you wouldn’t have anybody other than one person or two persons that can run the affairs of Nigeria. “There are millions who can run the affairs of Nigeria who are not even coming out. So why should you die on behalf of o

Happy Valentine from APC

Image
The All Progressives Congress wishes all Nigerians a happy Valentine’s Day, as they join the rest of the world to mark the Day on Saturday, and urges them to prepare to celebrate their imminent liberation from the PDP- imposed yoke under which they have laboured for many years. In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party said but for the insistence of the PDP and the Jonathan Administration that the suffering of Nigerians must be prolonged for another six weeks, the Valentine’s Day, which is a global celebration of love and affection, would have also marked the celebration of freedom from the PDP servitude by all Nigerians. It said, however, that those who orchestrated a needless postponement of the elections have only won a Pyrrhic victory as the delay will only further sweeten the joys of victory over the oppressors of the Nigerian people, over those who have looted the country’s treasury dry and

APC Insists On Card Readers, Opposes Use Of Soldiers For 2015 Elections

Image
The All Progressives Congress presidential campaign organization has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure the integrity of the forthcoming elections through the use of card readers to authenticate the status of voters. This was contained in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on of Friday and signed by the director of media and publicity of the campaign organisation, mallam Garba Shehu. Al Jazeera trial: Egypt court frees journalists on bail

Image
A court in Egypt has ordered the release on bail of two Al Jazeera journalists being retried for allegedly aiding the banned Muslim Brotherhood. Mohamed Fahmy and Baher Mohamed were imprisoned in June along with their Australian colleague, Peter Greste. But their convictions for spreading false news to help a terrorist group were overturned on appeal last month. Mr Greste was freed last week under a law allowing the deportation of foreign nationals to their home countries. Mr Fahmy has given up his Egyptian citizenship to qualify for deportation to Canada, but Mr Mohamed has no foreign passport. The journalists strenuously deny collaborating with the banned Muslim Brotherhood after the overthrow of President Mohammed Morsi by the military in 2013. They say they were jailed simply for reporting the news. 'Nightmare' Mr Fahmy and Mr Mohamed were led into a soundproof glass cage - which allows judges to limit defendants' ability to protest or interrupt proceedings - at

ISIS Behead Man For Witchcraft

Image
Militants fighting for the Islamic State in Syria have publicly beheaded a man for allegedly practicing witchcraft – the latest in a long line of barbaric executions carried out by the terror group. The unknown man was photographed being killed by a masked executioner in a village just outside ISIS’ stronghold and de facto capital Raqqa while a large crowd looked on. Precise details of the victim’s so-called crime are not known, but the charge of witchcraft and ‘invoking magic’, and the use of an axe and wooden chopping block to carry out the beheading do little to counter claims that ISIS are little more than murderers with a Dark Age view of the world. Photographs of the execution and the crowds who watched it were released by ISIS-affiliated media, and were reported by Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently – an anti-ISIS activist group based in the city who document the terror group’s barbarism in its de facto capital.

Facebook Now Lets You Choose What Happens To Your Account After You Die

Image
Facebook has introduced a new feature today that allows users to select a legacy contact, who will be able to manage their account after they pass away. Once Facebook has been notified of a user passing away, the social network will ‘memorialize’ the account and enable access to the legacy contact who can manage the profile. Once everything is configured, this contact will be able to announce a memorial service (or share a personal message) on the top of the Timeline, respond to new friend requests, update profile and cover photos, and even download an archive of photos, posts and profile information that person shared on Facebook. Note that personal messages will be off limits and the legacy contact is unable to log in as the deceased. The legacy contacts feature is currently rolling out in the US to begin with and Facebook will expand the rollout to more countries over time. If you’d rather not have someone access your profile once you’ve passed away, you can simply have
