FIFA Reinstates Maigari As NFF Chairman

World football governing body, FIFA, Thursday August 14th ordered the re-instatement of impeached Aminu Maigari as president of the Nigerian FootballFederation, NFF. The directive, which was conveyed in an email signed by the Deputy Secretary General of FIFA, Markus Kattner and sent to the NFF Secretary General Musa Amadu, stated that the NFF leadership must remain as status quo prior to the World cupin Brazil.  Mr Maigari was on July 24th impeached from office after a vote of no confidence was passed by some members of the NFF board. This will be the second time FIFA will be using its power to reinstate Maigari. With this new directive, Maigari and all his 13 board members earlier suspended will return to office until August 26th when a fresh election will take place.

Metersacker retires from international football

Germany defender Per Mertesacker has announced his retirement from international football to concentrate on his club career with Arsenal. The 29-year-old played 104 times for his country - scoring four goals - and made his final appearance from the substitutes' bench as Joachim Low's team won the World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Argentina. The centre-back is now targeting the a first Champions League win for the Emirates Stadium outfit, as well as the Premier League title, following their FA Cuptriumph in 2013-14."The main thing for me was that I wanted to be able to decide when my international career would end after ten years myself," he told Suddeutsche Zeitung. Ebola: Nurse Justina Obi Ejelonu Has Died

Obi Justina Ejelonu, one of the nurses who attended to Patrick Sawyer, a Liberian-American Ebola carrier who flew to Nigeria on his way to attend a conference in Calabar, has died. Her relatives rang SaharaReporters today with news that she passed away this morning. Ms. Ejelonu had been kept in a quarantine facility in Lagos.Until her death, the outspoken nurse was at the center of a campaign to get the Zmapp experimental drugs to Ebola victims in Nigeria. John Okiyi-Kalu started the Internet campaign a few days ago. Ms. Ejelonu was one of the primary contacts with Patrick Sawyer at a Lagos Hospital where he received treatment after he was rushed from the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos where he collapsed. She was aged 25, her relatives said.

Founder, Synagogue Church Of All Nations(SCOAN), Temitope Joshua has announced that the Sierra Leonean government were sent 4000 bottles of his ‘anointing water’ to spiritually fortify the country against the deadly Ebola Virus Disease.
