Jega Says Only Two States Have Finished Collating Results

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega has said only two states has finished collating their results. Giving an update on the general elections in the INEC Situation Room in Abuja, Professor Jega said that “as I speak to you, no original results have arrived here yet. Very few states have collated results, I know that election results in Ekiti are collated.” He advised Nigerians to be careful about making candidates winners because it is only INEC that can announce the winner. Answering questions about INEC ad hoc staff not being paid because they are on contract, Prof Jega said advance payments were made and the balance would be paid after the election. Collation of Results Professor Jega promised that the commission would not commence collation unless the media is there to witness the exercise. This is the injured DPO of Abonnema, Kayode Joseph, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area. He was injured when he escorted Mr. Isobo Jack, the Rivers Commisioner Urban Development to enable him get accredited and vote. He was throughly injured but the honourable Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagogo reportedly begged him not to make a formal report as he would give him whatever he needed to be quiet.

‘PDP Shared Money at My Polling Unit’-Ambode

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, says President Goodluck Jonathan was able to get 71 votes at his (Ambode’s) polling unit at Ward A5, polling unit 03, Epe, because members of the Peoples Democratic Party distributed cash. He, however, expressed pleasure in the fact that the APC presidential candidate, Maj.- Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), got 97 votes. PUNCH reports he said: Ambode said the process of accreditation went smoothly in his area. The PDP Lagos Chairman, Capt. Tunji Shelle, however, said Ambode was making a baseless accusation because he was afraid of losing the April 11 governorship election. He said, “Who are the people who shared the money? Ambode knows that he will lose in the governorship poll. He should come forward with proofs.”

Fani Kayode blasts reports that GEJ lost in his LGA, says PDP won all wards

There were reports today that President Jonathan lost the election in Femi Fani Kayode's ward in Osun state. The director of media & publicity for the PDP presidential campaign took to Twitter to slam the report, saying they won in all the LGAs of Ife Central for Jonathan.
