10-year old female sucide bomber arrested in Kastina

The Federal on Wednesday announced the arrest of a 10-year-old girl in Katsina State, suspected to be a suicidebomber.The Chairman, National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri, who briefed the press in Abuja, said the teenager was among three suspected Boko Haram members that were arrrested on Tuesday night. He said the girl had a belt strapped with explosives at the time of her arrest.Omeri said, “Security forces on Tuesday,July 29, at about 10pm along Zaria Road, Tudun Wada of Funtua Metropolis, arrested three suspects believed to be members of the Boko Haram sect.“The three suspects consisted a male named Iliya Haliru, and two females – Zainab Musa, 18, and Hadiza Musa, 10. The three suspects were arrested in a Honda CRV.“When they were directed to disembark for security check, 10-year-old Hadiza was discovered to have been strapped with an explosive belt. Man Commits s*****e Over Inability To Pay N35,000 House Rent

A 43-year-old auto mechanic, Obi Orji, killed himself yesterday in Minna followinghis inability to pay his house rent and threat of eviction from his landlord.It was gathered that Obi committed s*****e by drinking a poisonous chemical in the early hours of yesterday.Leadership reports that Obi who resides atKateren Gwari, Minna, was unable to meet his obligation of paying his house rent which was put at N35,000 annually. He committed the act after his wife and five children had left for Church for the morning mass, leaving only him at home by the time he took his life.It was further learnt that he committed s*****e following the expiration of the datehe gave his landlord to pay his house rent. A colleague of the deceased at Mechanic Bye Pass, Minna, said Obi’s landlord, simply identified as Alhaji Lateef, had constantly traced him to his workshop at the Mechanic bye-pass in Minna, threatening to forcefully evict him out of the house if he failed to pay his rent at the appointed date.

Suicide bomber kills admission seekers in Kano

A suicide bomb has exploded at a college in northern Nigeria’s biggest city, Kano, and there are casualties, witnesses say. The explosion occurred as students queued to check their names on a new admission list, they added.Bodies lay strewn at the blast site, witnesses told the BBC. The bomber was hidden in the crowd, a witness, Isyaku Adamu, told the AFP news agency. The BBC’s Yusuf Ibrahim Yakasai in Kano says police have not yet confirmed the blast.The number of people killed or woundedis still unclear.
