BREAKING NEWS: Three injured and London City Airport closed as engine 'explodes' on Swiss jet during take-off

Three people were injured and London City Airport was forced to close for more than an hour after a departing plane's engine 'exploded' as it was taking off. A passenger on board Geneva-bound flight LX437 said there was a large bang, flames which 'grew and grew' and 'large chunks of what looked like red-hot metal' flying into the air. He added: 'In about 20 seconds we would have been in the air'. Three passengers were treated for ‘minor injuries’ and others remained in shock after the incident which caused other incoming planes to be diverted and departing flights to be postponed or cancelled. Passengers posted photos on Twitter of the stricken Geneva-bound Swiss plane being evacuated as 74 passengers and four crew got out onto the runway and sought refuge on the apron. 'I know my father better': Son of MH370 pilot breaks his silence to rubbish theories that Captain Zaharie deliberately crashed the plane into the Indian Ocean, killing 239 people

The son of the pilot of ill-fated MH370 has broken his silence and denied Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah deliberately crashed the plane into the Indian Ocean. Ahmad Seth says he has 'ignored all the speculation' around his 53-year-old father since the plane mysteriously disappeared en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur 19 days ago. And the 26-year-old, Captain Zaharie's youngest son, says the family has yet to accept the official ruling that all 239 people on board are dead, insisting they will wait for physical evidence. Exam fraud: Kwara education college suspends four workers

According to the Punch, Kwara State College of Education, llorin, on Wednesday suspended four members of its staff over alleged examination malpractices. The suspension order was contained in a statement by the Registrar of the College, Alhaji Abiodun Ibrahim, in llorin on Wednesday. According to the statement, the indicted workers were alleged to have issued fake examination clearance to students. They were also alleged to have altered examination scores and results for some students. According to the statement, the suspended staff members who are from the Registry and Bursary Departments are to remain at home for a year without pay.
