D'banj celebrates 34th birthday

Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo (popularly known as D’Banj) is a Nigerian singer/songwriter, Harmonica player and an entrepreneur. He was born June 9, 1980 in Zaria in the northern parts of Nigeria to a military father and a business/entrepreneurial mother. He attended Nigerian Military School and later, the Nigeria Navy School Ogun State where he was a member of the school band. In 1999, D’Banj went on to study Mechanical Engineering at the Lagos State University. His passion for music was fuelled after he lost his military pilot trainee brother to a plane crash and he inherited his Harmonica. Unlike his military dad, D’Banj relocated to the United Kingdom where his pursuit for his love of music began. Dapo adopted the stage name D’Banj, a combination of his first name “Dapo” and his last name “Oyebanjo”. ‘We will ensure Jonathan does not get a second term’

PORT HARCOURT - Former Spokesman of defunct new Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, Mr Chukwuemeka Eze has said governors who later moved from the defunct party to the All Progressive Congress would ensure President Goodluck Jonathan did not get a second term. Soldiers ground Jos as Sambo visits blast sites

An unusual heavy presence of soldiers and military vehicles have grounded the Jos metropolis of the Plateau State capitalon Mondayas residents woke up to behold the entire city sealed off by security agencies. The stretch of Ahmadu Bello Way, Muritala Mohammed Way, Bauchi Road and Rwang Pam Street have been placed under heavy military siege with armoured tanks strategically stationed along the major highways, preventing cars and pedestrians from going through. Stern-looking and heavily-armed men of the Special Task Force turned back workers, while business places were not allowed to open. There was utter confusion on the streets as motorists were unsure which road to pass through. Most hit were the banks as those streets are the banking hub of the city.
