Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose,has said former President Olusegun Obasanjo is fighting President GoodluckJonathan because he prevented him (Obasanjo) from ruling Nigeria from his Ota Farm. I will retire after the 2017 World Championships in London, says Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt, a six-time Olympic gold medallist revealed he would retire from athletics after the 2017 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF)World Championships in London. According to the Daily Mail, an online news portal, the Jamaican 28-year-old decided on Feb. 14 to retire in 2017 after the World Championships, in spite of his former promise to retire after the Rio 2016 Olympics. The news portal then confirmed that Bolt will end his illustrious career on the same track where he retained the Olympic 100m and 200m titles he won in bursting to the top of his sport at the 2008 Beijing Games. 20 Bayelsa Women Burnt To Death After Visiting First Lady

About 20 women from Bayelsa State were yesterday burnt to death in a multiple accident after visiting the first lady Dame Patience Jonathan. It was gathered last night that the accident occurred at Ahoada, in Rivers State. It was said to have involved a Toyota Sienna car, jeep and a bus with an inscription, Peoples Democratic Party Women Initiative. A security source put the number of burnt victims at 20 adding that all the occupants of the bus perished. The source who spoke in confidence said:“The affected women were travelling in the bus which went up in flames. They were burnt to ashes. Only one of the women was rescued.”It was learnt that the women paid a solidarity visit to the first lady in Okirika where they spent two days. The Bayelsa State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Vincent Jack confirmed the accident. OBJ blasts GEJ again, says he is afraid Buhari might jail him when he leaves office

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday came hard again on President Jonathan and his style of governance, claiming that President Jonathan is afraid that if Gen Buhari wins the election, he might jail him when he leaves office. Obasanjo said this while speaking to newsmen at his home in Abeokuta shortly after his return from his trip to Kenya and UK. Obasanjo said President Jonathan was doing everything possible to win the elections, either by hook or by crook. He said president Jonathan is playing the cards of former Cote d’Ivoire President, Laurent Gbagbo who continued shifting elections in his country in a bid to ensure that he won the election, a situation that plunged Cote d'Ivoire into political crisis. Pastor, others arrested for child trafficking

The Nigerian Immigration Service, Oyo State Command, on Saturday paraded a pastor, Olufemi Timothy, and four others accused of child trafficking in Ibadan. The command also paraded 12 boys and four girls allegedly being used by the accused persons in a slavery ring. The Controller of the command, Innocent Akatu, said the accused persons were apprehended in various locations in Ibadan, adding that they would be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons for legal actions. Our correspondent, who was at the command when the culprits and their victims were handed over to NAPTIP officials from Lagos, observed that the children were not well fed and clothed. One of the children, who identified herself as Glory, said that she had been in Nigeria for three years without being paid.
