Amosun wins APC ticket, Deputy to contest

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has won the APC ticket to contest for the second time as a governor. The primary election was held at Abeokuta the state capital on Thursday having 3,861 votes. His Deputy, Mr. Adesegun Adesegun also declared his interest to contest for the governorship post under the platform of the Social Democratic Party. His deputy, Mr. Segun Adesegun, also declared his governorship ambition on Thursday on the platform of the Social Democratic Party.In the primary, which held under tight security, the governor polled 3,861 votes, in a contest where he is the sole aspirant. 193 Prisoners Out Of Over 300 Who Escaped During Ekiti Prison Explosion Recaptured

193 prisoners out of the over 300 that escaped during the explosion that rocked the Federal Prison in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti statecapital on Sunday November 30th have been recaptured. Confirming their recapture, the state Prison’s spokesman, Mr Ope Fatinikun said the chase for other escapees was still on. He urged people in neighbouring states of Ondo, Kogi, Edo, Oyo and Kwara to be vigilant as some of the prisoners might want to take refuge in their community.
