18 year Nigerian upcoming rapper named Isaiah Ekpaloba (pictured above) died on January 9th after he was stabbed in Wood Green, UK, after a fight with another teenager. Isaiah and a man named Jaydee Dorsett engaged in physical combat that involved the use of knifes on Friday afternoon and by the time they were done, the two young men suffered stab wounds. Isaiah took himself to the hospital to get treated but died shortly after. They later said his cause of death was shock, haemorrhage and a stab wound to the chest. Jaydee, who was also taken to hospital for stab wounds, was arrested and has been charged with murder. He’s currently on trial where he’s claiming self defense.

A suicide bomber around 7.35pm this evening blew himself up at the Arawa area in Gombe state near the Gombe state University, killing at least 15 people. The area attacked is a mini market where buyers and sellers converge. May God deliver us from all these disasters.

Mr Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, Google’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Anglophone, West Africa, made the appeal at the Google Data Tools for Elections Reporting Workshop held in Lagos. He said there were various useful tools such as Google Advance Search, Google Trends, Social Media Streams, Google Alert and Tabula which could be used in sourcing data. Karachi (AFP) - AFP photographer Asif Hassan was shot and seriously injured Friday while covering an anti-Charlie Hebdo protest by religious party activists outside the French consulate in Karachi, but was out of immediate danger following surgery. Hassan did not appear to have been deliberately targeted but police and witnesses said protesters from the student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami religious party had been shooting at police and Hassan was caught in the crossfire. The party denied it was responsible and blamed the police. "The bullet struck his lung, and passed through his chest. He is out of immediate danger and he has spoken to his colleagues," Doctor Seemi Jamali, a spokeswoman for Karachi's Jinnah Hospital where Hassan was taken, told AFP.
