Kilani Clocks 67, Invites Fans To The Cinema

Nollywood director and founder of Mainframe Production, Tunde Kilani, marks his 67 birthday on Thursday in style as he takes to the cinema. Popularly known as TK, the filmmaker and story teller took to his social media platform (Google+) to invite his fans to the cinema for the viewing of ‘Dazzling Mirage’, one of his 2014 drama film. Kilani is also a film producer who specialises in producing movies that promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and have a root in documentation, archiving, education, entertainment and promotion of the culture. With a career in the film industry – home and abroad – for more than four decades, Kilani is known for his love of adaptation of literary material into movies as most of his works have followed that style of filmmaking A few example of this filmmaking style include Thunder Bolt, Ko se Gbe, Maami, Oleku, The Narrow Path, and White handkerchief. Washington DC Legalizes Marijuana Possession and Use

Washington DC in the United States has legalized the possession of small amounts of marijuana. The implication is that people who use the drug in private no longer face prosecution. This new law has created tension between the city's mayor and Congress. Washington DC joins Alaska, Colorado, and Washington state as the only places in the US that allow the use of the drug for recreational purposes. Residents and visitors to the city over the age of 21 can possess as much as 2oz (56g) of cannabis, and may grow a few plants at home. However, Buying and selling the drug remains illegal, as does smoking it in public. This  plan was reached upon through  a referendum last November. But the vote revived tensions between local officials and Congress. Washington DC - a federal district, not a state - is required to seek congressional approval for much of its legislation. 'America's Next Top Model' Contestant Mirjana Puhar's Murder -- Lead Detective Also a Reality Star

The lead detective assigned to the murder case of "America's Next Top Model" star Mirjana Puhar ironically has a connection to the victim ... they're both reality TV stars. Det. Norma McKee was on A&E's"The First 48" -- a docuseries about murder investigations -- back in 2011, when she was just a rookie. The episode chronicled a double-murder investigation, her first, involving a couple that was shot point blank in their car by a backseat passenger. McKee got her man, who is currently serving 28 years after pleading guilty to two counts of second degree murder.  Puhar and two other people were killed Tuesday in Charlotte, NC. Police have already arrested a suspect, who has been charged with three counts of first degree murder. By TMZ

Bizarre:Woman Gives Birth To Baby WithoutArms In Ogun, Husband Ran Away

The arrival of a baby in every home heralds joy. But this was not the case for Mr. Mudashiru Sheriffdeen of Bosun Street, Ifo in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.The wife, Taiwo, was on Tuesday delivered of a baby boy who had no arms. The baby boy, our correspondent gathered, was born around 2pm at a private hospital, Majotal Medical Clinic at the Ilogbo area of Ado/Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state.It was further learnt that the baby weighed 3.25 kilogrammes at birth. The mother of the baby told our correspondent that immediately she gave birth to the baby boy, her husband took to his heels on hearing that the baby was born without arms. Expressing her sadness, she said, “This is my first child and I do not know why I gave birth to this kind of a baby. “Immediately my husband was informed that his son had deformity, he ran away and had not come to see me. He is a commercial bus driver, and we had been married now for almost two years before God decided to answ

Paris police arrest Al-Jazeera journalists over drone

Three Al-Jazeera journalists have been arrested for the alleged illegal flying of a drone in Paris after being spotted by police in the Bois de Boulogne area. A spokesman for prosecutors said there was "no relationship for the moment" between the arrests and mysterious drone flights over the city at night. Al-Jazeera said the journalists had been "filming a report on the city's recent mystery drones". Drones were spotted over city landmarks for a second night running on Tuesday. Flying drones over Paris without a licence is banned by law. The offence carries a maximum one-year prison sentence and a €75,000 (£55,000; $85,000) fine. A judicial source told AFP news agency of the three people arrested: "The first was piloting the drone, the second was filming and the third was watching." The names and nationalities of the journalists have not been released. Al-Jazeera is a Qatar- based satellite TV channel. It is against the law for any aircraft
