Fayose meets with Hausa leaders, urges them to vote for GEJ

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, on Tuesday met with leaders of the Hausa community in Ekiti State urging them to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan in the February 14 presidential election. A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, in Ado-Ekiti, quoted Fayose as saying, “We want peace and stability in this country. The problem of insurgency is a creation of the All Progressives Congress so as to destabilise Jonathan and discredit his administration. “How would Buhari, who on many occasions turned down offer to lead the committee on dialogue with Boko Haram, now say he has the solution to Boko Haram activities in the country? “Is that not a clear indication of APC being in the know of Boko Haram and other gunmen attacks in the North? It is very logical for the North to wait till 2019 to present a candidate belonging to its first eleven who are credible, young, healthy and sound,” he said. A man has reportedly been blindfolded and thrown off a tower block in Syria for ‘being gay’ before being stoned to death after surviving the fall. The Shocking pictures of the execution, which were posted on Live Leak show ISIS militants hurling the man off the seven- storey building in the town of Tal Abyad in Raqqa. The man, who was supposedly being punished for having a ‘homosexual affair’, apparently survived the fall, but was stoned to death by a waiting crowd at the foot of the tower block. The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, claims the man was thrown from the building before being beaten to death. I’ll Ban Importation Of Rice, Tomato If Elected – Buhari vows

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammad Buhari (retd), on Monday said if elected on February 14, he would ban the importation of basic items like rice and tomato in order to enhance local production of the products. He also said his administration would focus on agriculture, mining, infrastructure and job provision at the top of its economic agenda. Buhari, who gave a summary of how he intended to revive the economy in a meeting with the Organised Private Sector in Lagos, said his government would place emphasis on three key issues of security, tackling corruption and reviving the ailing economy.
