The Ọmọlúàbí is a Yorùbá philosophical and cultural concept to describe a person of absolute goodness--An e pitome of humanity. The Ọmọlúàbí concept signifies courage, hard work, humility and respect, etc. An Ọmọlúàbí is a person of honor who understands the benefits of hard work, respects the rights of others, and gives to the community in deeds and in action. Above all, an Ọmọlúàbí is a person of high integrity.

Sanpoona/Obaluaye: Unlocking the concept of the deity you thought you knew

Sanpona, referred to as the divinity of Small pox was divined aspect of communal diseases- Epidemics. In other to prevent epidemics like small pox, chicken pox, measles and other deadly diseases, this divinity is worshiped among the Yoruba. The concept Sanpoona was developed among the Yoruba when they began to live in close communities within large cities. That period is identified as the Oduduwa Age and cities affected were initially, probably, in the northern areas of the Oyo kingdom.

Elagbara is the Oriki name of Esu in the diaspora. Countries like Brazil, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago called him this name, the question is, is Esu referred to as Elegbaa in the Yorubaland? Yes, Esu has different kinds of oriki (praises names) but when he is being praised by his devotees he is not addressed as Elegbaa, he is called ALAGBARA which means the POWERFUL PERSON.
