Soldiers ground Jos as Sambo visits blast sites

According to a punch report. An unusual heavy presence of soldiers and military vehicles have grounded the Jos metropolis of the Plateau State capitalon Mondayas residents woke up to behold the entire city sealed off by security agencies. The stretch of Ahmadu Bello Way, Muritala Mohammed Way, Bauchi Road and Rwang Pam Street have been placed under heavy military siege with armoured tanks strategically stationed along the major highways, preventing cars and pedestrians from going through. Stern-looking and heavily-armed men of the Special Task Force turned back workers, while business places were not allowed to open. There was utter confusion on the streets as motorists were unsure which road to pass through. Most hit were the banks as those streets are the banking hub of the city. Our correspondent reports that those on their way to churches in the areas had to return home in frustration as they could not find a way through the barricade. There was no formal announcement about the heavy military presence but our our correspondent learnt from a reliable source in the STF that Vice President Namadi Sambo would visit the Terminus Market and Bauchi Road, which were hit by bombers in the past few weeks, on Monday(today)
