Eto'o joins Liverpool on a one-year-deal

Samuel Eto’o has opted to join Liverpool and is undergoing a medical on Friday ahead of signing a one-year deal, Goal understands. Everton’s late interest in the 33-year-old had threatened to derail Liverpool’s move, with Roberto Martinez’s side ready to offer a two-year contract, but the striker is excited by the prospect of working under Brendan Rodgers. The Cameroon international’s medical is taking place outside of the UK, while the deal could be finalised before Liverpool face Manchester City on Monday evening. Eto’o is available on a free transfer having left Chelsea at the end of last season and had held talks with Ajax earlier this summer before the Dutch club pulled out of negotiations.Eto’o scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for Chelsea last season but hit out at Jose Mourinho after the 51-year-old joked about not knowing the striker’s real age. Newswatch is a Nigerian weekly news magazine published by Newswatch Communications Limited in Nigeria . Newswatch' s weekly print run can be as high as 100,000 copies. [1] Newswatch was formed by Nigerian journalists Dele Giwa, Ray Ekpu, Dan Agbese and Yakubu Mohammed in 1984, and the first edition was distributed on 28 January 1985. [2] A 1989 description of the magazine said it "changed the format of print journalism in Nigeria [and] introduced bold, investigative formats to news reporting in Nigeria". According to Sahara Reporters, the fiancé of Obi Ejelonu, the nurse who died of the Ebola virusafter being infected by Patrick Sawyer, is suspected to have contracted the Ebola virus from his late fiance. The suspected patient, whose name was given simply as “Dennis”, allegedly suffered froma high fever three days ago but said he had recovered, SR reports. He’s since been admitted in the hospital. A new blood test has been ordered, with results expected as soon astoday.

The National conference in its final report had recommended the creation of 18 additional states to bring the number of states in the country to 54. Some Northern delegates had initially kicked against the creation of more states apart from the one proposed for the South-East which was overwhelmingly supported. However, after series of consultations by the leadership of delegations, the Conference unanimously adopted the recommendation for the creationof additional 18 new states. On July 3rd, delegates at the just concluded National Conference had unanimously supported the creation of 18 more additional states. The recommendation was made by the Committee on Political Restructuring and Forms of Government jointly headed by Ike Nwachukwu and Mohammed Kumalia. The recommendation was faulted by veteran journalist and publisher of Ovationa Internation magazine, Dele Momodu.
