A former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has predicted that the end of the Peoples Democratic Party will bedisgraceful. The scientist who helped discover the Ebola virus has saidhe would sit next to an infected patient on the London Underground and that the outbreak in West Africa was unlikely to trigger a major global pandemic.Professor Peter Piot, director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, told AFP that a lack of trust in authorities in West Africa had contributed to the world’s largest ever outbreak of the pathogen. Ghana bans flights from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia over Ebola concerns

Ghana has officially banned flights from 4 West African countries; Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nigeria,citing concerns about the rapid spread of the Ebola virus, which has claimed several lives. Charles Asare, Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, said the measure was part of a set of emergency management plans officials are rolling out to combat the spread of the virus. About 60 million Nigerians between 18 and 40 years of age may be spending up to N1.8 billion on sports betting daily, investigation by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reveals. The investigation showed that they commit on the average N3,000 on sports betting daily.Dotun Ajekigbe, a sport betting analyst, said that sport betting though risky was also rewarding.Ajekigbe said that about 60 million Nigerians placed bets on different matches daily across the country.He said that most unemployed youths have taken to online and other forms of sports betting to make a living.According to him, from findings this groupof people stake an average of N3,000 daily.“Sport betting is gambling, not investing in bank shares.“But almost everything in life is a gamble, more so with money matters. Ebola: Liberia shuts schools to tackle outbreak

10-year old female sucide bomber arrested in Kastina

The Federal on Wednesday announced the arrest of a 10-year-old girl in Katsina State, suspected to be a suicidebomber.The Chairman, National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri, who briefed the press in Abuja, said the teenager was among three suspected Boko Haram members that were arrrested on Tuesday night.
