The Unfathomable Ways of Olodumare : A Testament to Divine Providence

The story of Akinsanmi serves as a testament to the mysterious nature of Olodumare. From poverty and hardship to prosperity and honor, Akinsanmi's life was transformed in an instant. His journey reminds us that Olodumare's plans are often unpredictable and beyond our understanding.

Here is the Odu from Obara-Ogunda:

Ile san mi
Oko o san mi
Dia fun Akinsanmi
Tii somo Ikori-Aga
Eyi to d’ebiti titi
Ti ko ri nnkankan pa
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se
O gbebo, o rubo
O wa d’ebiti sile
Aresiwaju p’ogun
Areseyin p’ogbon
Are-saarin-gbungbun p’aadota
O na’wo fa iti gbungbun
Igun merindinlogun tun da sile
Nigbati o lanu haa!
Oyin tun nkan sii lenu
Yoo pada de’le
Obinrin re to loyun ti bi ibeji
O ni e o ri aye oun bo a ti dun bi aye alaafin.

Translation
The home benfits me
And the farm is beneficial to me
These were Ifas declarations for Akinsanmi
The offspring of Ikori-Aga
Who had been setting dead-fall trap for longWithout killing any game
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Part of the trap that fell forward killed twenty animals
That which fell backward killed thirty
The middle part killed fifty games
He pulled on a creeping plant to use as rope to tie the animals
Sixteen snails fell down from the tree
When he shouted oh! In exclamation
Honey dropped into his mouth
When he returned home
His pregnant wife gave birth to a set of twins
He declared that his life is as rewarding as that of the Alaafin (of Oyo)
