SSS Arrests Nigeria Football Federation Chairman, Aminu Maigari

Embattled President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Aminu Maigari has reportedly been arrested by the State Security Service agent in Abuja. Mr Maigari is said to have been arrested today August 26th alongside Musa Amadu the NFF Secretary General and Chris Green, a board member, as proceedings for the General meeting of the NFF began at Chida Hotel in Abuja. Reason for their arrest has not yet been disclosed. Embattled Maigari was recently reinstated as Chairman of the NFF by FIFA after being impeached by the NFF Board members in July.

World's tallest man dies @44

Leonid Stadnyk, believed to be the world’s tallest man at 8ft 4 inches has died. He was just 44. The peasant farmer from the Ukrainian village of Podoliantsy, died on Sunday August 24th from a brain haemorrhage after health problems.In his last interview, Leonid, who wears a  talked about how his height was a curse, why he refused to be measured by the Guinness Book of World Records and also why he refused to get married “To me, my height is a curse, a punishment from God, not something to celebrate. What sin I have committed, I do not know. All my life I have dreamed of being just like everyone else. I don’twant or need the fame that this would bring so I have no desire to be in this Guinness book. “I never got married because I don’t want to inflict my problems on a wife. Footballer Dies After Being Hit By Object Thrown From Crowd

Albert Ebossé, a striker from Cameroon, has died after being hit in the head by an object thrown from the crowd at the endof a top-flight Algerian league game on Saturday. The 24-year-old was struck by a projectile, thrown by fans in the stands, as he and fellow team mates returned to their changingroom. His team, JS Kabylie, had just lost their game against USM Alger in Tizi Ouzou 2-1. The lone goal for  JS Kabylie was scored by late Albert Ebossé. Albert was rushed to the hospital but he lost his life. Ebosse played for Coton Sport FC, Unisport Bafang and Douala AC in his homeland before moving to Malaysian club Perak FA in 2012. He signed for JS Kabylie in July 2013 and was best scorer in the 2013-2014 championship. Reports say he recently welcomed a baby. Manchester United have agreed a €81 million deal with Real Madrid for wingerAngel Di Maria. Goal reported on Saturday that the PremierLeague side had made a breakthrough in their attempts to sign the 26-year-old to Old Trafford, with the player having decided that he wanted to move to Old Trafford. With talks between the two sides having accelerated in the last 24 hours, Di Maria has now arrived in Manchester and is expected to agree personal terms and complete a medical on Tuesday. Amosun orders the closure of Olabisi Onabanjo University

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has ordered the closure of Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State following continued protests from students over their tuition fees. In a statement released by Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, Secretary to State Government ofthe State, the government said it had no “option than to order the immediate closure of all the campuses of Olabisi Onabanjo University to protect the students and other residents of the state and their property.” The students, according to the government have continued to issue threats while rejecting all entreaties and concessions made by the government on their various demands concerning therecently announced reduction of school fees. The government thereby advisedall parents whose wards are students of the university to immediately call them to order asthe government will not tolerate any act that will disturb the peace being enjoyed by the people of the state. The Government of Ekiti State has debunked rumours of an outbreak of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease in the state over the unfortunate death of a woman, who reportedly vomited and collapsed in premises of the State Ministry of Health after she was rejected by four different private hospitals because of the text messages circulated by some unidentified people suspected to be in the Healthcare sector that tagged her ebola patient.
