Ghana bans flights from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia over Ebola concerns

Ghana has officially banned flights from 4 West African countries; Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nigeria,citing concerns about the rapid spread of the Ebola virus, which has claimed several lives. Charles Asare, Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, said the measure was part of a set of emergency management plans officials are rolling out to combat the spread of the virus. Continue..The government there has also implemented strict restrictions on the movement and management of Liberian refugees in camps in the country. Nigerians Spend N1.8 Billion Daily On Sports Betting Daily

About 60 million Nigerians between 18 and 40 years of age may be spending up to N1.8 billion on sports betting daily, investigation by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reveals. The investigation showed that they commit on the average N3,000 on sports betting daily.Dotun Ajekigbe, a sport betting analyst, said that sport betting though risky was also rewarding.Ajekigbe said that about 60 million Nigerians placed bets on different matches daily across the country.He said that most unemployed youths have taken to online and other forms of sports betting to make a living.According to him, from findings this groupof people stake an average of N3,000 daily.“Sport betting is gambling, not investing in bank shares.“But almost everything in life is a gamble, more so with money matters. According to a bbc report, Liberia’s government has announced that it is closing down all schools across the country to stop the spread of the deadly Ebola virus. 10-year old female sucide bomber arrested in Kastina

The Federal on Wednesday announced the arrest of a 10-year-old girl in Katsina State, suspected to be a suicidebomber.The Chairman, National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri, who briefed the press in Abuja, said the teenager was among three suspected Boko Haram members that were arrrested on Tuesday night. He said the girl had a belt strapped with explosives at the time of her arrest.Omeri said, “Security forces on Tuesday,July 29, at about 10pm along Zaria Road, Tudun Wada of Funtua Metropolis, arrested three suspects believed to be members of the Boko Haram sect.“The three suspects consisted a male named Iliya Haliru, and two females – Zainab Musa, 18, and Hadiza Musa, 10. A 43-year-old auto mechanic, Obi Orji, killed himself yesterday in Minna followinghis inability to pay his house rent and threat of eviction from his landlord.It was gathered that Obi committed s*****e by drinking a poisonous chemical in the early hours of yesterday.Leadership reports that Obi who resides atKateren Gwari, Minna, was unable to meet his obligation of paying his house rent which was put at N35,000 annually. He committed the act after his wife and five children had left for Church for the morning mass, leaving only him at home by the time he took his life.It was further learnt that he committed s*****e following the expiration of the datehe gave his landlord to pay his house rent. A suicide bomb has exploded at a college in northern Nigeria’s biggest city, Kano, and there are casualties, witnesses say. The explosion occurred as students queued to check their names on a new admission list, they added.Bodies lay strewn at the blast site, witnesses told the BBC. The bomber was hidden in the crowd, a witness, Isyaku Adamu, told the AFP news agency. 2 Die As APC, PDP Supporters Clash In Osun
