SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT From the Office of the President, International Council for Ifa Religion (ICIR). I am making this statement in my capacity as the President of the International Council for Ifá religion (ICIR) to set the records straight owing to misinformation in certain quarters. ICIR is bigger than its members regardless of their position. It is our wish that Ifa Religion and practice is elevated to its deserved place in the comity of world religions. For this to be possible, there is a need, among other things, to present facts objectively and devoid of any sentimental narratives that might be going on for several decades or centuries. World Ifa Festival & Pilgrimage '22 | Main Messages of OWONRIN ELEJIGBO for the Year 2022/2023 | ICIR

Preamble  The ICIR Pilgrimage Committee envisages a massive turnout for the pilgrimage and festival for 2022 festival. For this reason, adequate preparations were made for the following: i. Transportation and logistics ii. Accommodation, both hotels and private homes iii. Health  iv. Security and safety, these include physical and spiritual aspects of the pilgrimage i. In the area of transportation and logistics all the states delegates were mandated to ensure that all the vehicles that would convene Pilgrims Ado Ekiti and all the other sacred sites were properly maintained, serviced, and taken to qualified personnel to ensure that all necessary checked were done. This includes tyres, engine oil, brake oil, gear oil etc. ii. The committee sent delegates to all the hotels in Ado to ensure that the hotels are neat, secured and conducive to living for all pilgrims who will stay in such hotels .                                                                           My attention was drawn to the current debate on social media regarding whether gays, lesbians, etc., should be allowed in Ifá spirituality.  While some argued that homosexuality has no place in Ifá/Òrìṣà spirituality, others argued that homosexuality is not unnatural because certain hormones were identified to be responsible for sexual orientation.   The latter indicates a likelihood of some people being born homosexuals.  As much as it is a controversial issue, it is imperative for any right-thinking and knowledgeable stakeholders in Ifá and Òrìṣà practice to provide valid and objective information in order to not leave the followers to their own understandings, which may adversely affect people's perception of Ifá/Òrìṣà practice.   Whether you are homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, or pansexual, the fact remains that you are acting or taking actions in response to a particular situation or
