Court Approves Suit Against Tinubu Over Murder Of Funsho Williams

Williams, a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State was murdered at his residence in Lagos in June 2006. Trial judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia had earlier struck out the suit which was filed by a former detainee in the Williams’ murder, Bashir Junaid. The judge had struck out the suit for want of diligent prosecution. But on Monday, the judge granted an application to re-list the suit.

Kaduna state governor, Nasir El Rufai has reduced the number of ministries in the state from 19 to 13. The downsizing in the number of ministries was contained in a statement released by his media aide, Samaila Aruwan today June 9th According to the statement, the reduction is being carried out to cut the cost of running the various ministries.

One year ago, we told you about the sad story of a young Nigerian banker, Ms. Ebere Ukwu, who went into coma and was placed on life support machine, months after arriving United States from Nigeria, to pursue her desire for best living. Ebere Ukwu, dreamt of elevating her life in America. She wanted to experience the different culture and lifestyle of North America. After she lost her job as a bank manager during Nigeria’s financial meltdown, she decided to move to USA, to live out loud. She embraced all things American. But she never got a chance to romance the intrigues of life and living here. On June 1, at 12.05 a.m,   Ms. Ebere Ukwu’s dream died with her inside the Intensive Care Unit of Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. She had been in coma for more than two years.

Some hoodlums, suspected to be working for a political party in Lagos State, have killed five people in the Ajah area of the state. Our correspondents learnt that the victims were coming from a naming ceremony when the men waylaid, and opened fire on their bus. The killer gang was also said to have entered the  vehicle  and used cutlasses and knives to slit the throats of some of the occupants.
