When the leaders of the Group of Seven developed nations met for a two-day summit in Bavaria, Germany, their agenda included global terrorism, Ukraine and climate change. With terrorism one of the talking points, it was not strange that the group invited President Muhammadu Buhari and several heads of governments from countries battling jihadists. After the summit, the group released a statement on its resolution on each of the major topics discussed.

On June 1, at 12.05 a.m,   Ms. Ebere Ukwu’s dream died with her inside the Intensive Care Unit of Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. She had been in coma for more than two years.

Nigerian Oil marketers say the lingering fuel scarcity nationwide will come to an end on or before the 13th of this month. Addressing newsmen after a meeting with the federal government today, the oil marketers said the traffic gridlock at the Oshodi-Apapa express is largely responsible for the scarcity as over 3000 tankers are towing to collect fuel from the Lagos depot to distribute to other parts of the country. They say they will be working with the Lagos state government to effectively manage the traffic so tanker drivers can quickly pick up fuel for distribution.

Former Lagos State governor  Babatunde Fashola  has received an honorary doctorate from  Babcock University. He received the award on Thursday during the university’s post-graduate convocation ceremony.
