Ship carrying more than 450 people sinks in China's Yangtze river

More than 400 people are missing after a Chinese passenger boat sank on the  Yangtze river  after being hit by what the captain described as a cyclone. At least 458 people were travelling on the Dongfangzhixing, or  Eastern Star , vessel when it went down at around 11pm on Monday night not  far from the  city of Jingzhou in Hubei province. Eight people have been rescued  Tuesday morning  with heavy rain and strong winds hindering the work of emergency teams.

Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted leaving Saint Tropez's exclusive club Le Quai in the early hours of Monday.  After leaving he was caught urinating in front of an ice cream store in the upmarket old harbour area of Saint Tropez as his friends stood guard nearby.

Prepare for trouble, PDP warns Ekiti APC lawmakers

The Peoples Democratic Party has alleged that there is a plot by outgoing Ekiti All Progressives Congress state lawmakers to cause confusion and trigger mayhem as a means of securing political control of the state. It however warned that its members would be fully mobilised to stiffly resist the alleged scheme. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, in a statement on Monday, in Abuja, said the party was aware that the outgoing lawmakers were desperate to wreck havoc in the state before the end of their tenure on Thursday.

Man Almost Lynched To Death For Stealing Petrol In Edo (See Photo)

A middle- aged man is currently being detained by operatives of Edo State Police Command for allegedly siphoning diesel from a truck belonging to a beverage company located at Ikpoba Hill, in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the State. It was gathered that the suspect was caught at about 4 : 00 am on 27 May by a vigilant night guard in the area , who noticed a flow of diesel on the ground close to where the truck was parked. He allegedly traced the flow to the truck where he found the suspect channelling the petroleum product into waiting jerry cans. Sighting the night guard, the suspect was said to have fled the scene , but the guard who raised an alarm, later overpowered him after a hot chase.
