The All Progressives Congress has denied a report by the immediate past Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, that the APC presidential candidate, Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), was pelted with stones in Lagos on Friday. Obanikoro had issued a statement condemning the purported stoning of Buhari on the Lagos Island, where the APC presidential candidate and other party leaders went to pay homage to the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu. However, the APC, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said Obanikoro was only trying to impress President Goodluck Jonathan because he had been nominated as a minister. The party said Buhari and the party leaders were not stoned but rather received cheers from bystanders, who are eager for a change in the leadership of the country. The statement read, “Gen. Wife of Nollywood actor, Jide kosoko, Henrietta Kosoko , was involved in an accident along Sagamu Abeokuta road this afternoon. She was traveling in her grey color SUV when her car veered off the road and hit a standing PHCN pole. Residents came to her rescue and rushed her to the hospital. “She’s been taken to Latoro Hospital in Abeokuta. God took total control” . Her husband confirmed!

Vice-President Namadi Sambo on Thursday advised the APC presidential candidate, retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, against committing suicide by planning to personally lead the war against Boko Haram terrorists, if elected president. Sambo gave the advice at the PDP Presidential Rally in Yola, Adamawa. The vide president said his advice was against the backdrop of the advice given to Buhari by his presidential running mate to personally lead the war against Boko Haram if elected President in next month's presidential election. Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, wife of former leader of the now rested Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, NDPF, Asari-Dokubo has reacted to the recent call by General Theophilus Danjuma (rtd.) for the arrest of her husband over some inciting comments. Danjuma had on Wednesday called for the immediate arrest of the Niger Delta ex-militants, Asari-Dokubo and Boyloaf over their recent threats to blow up the nation if their kinsmen, President Goodluck Jonathan was not re-elected in February 14.“You should arrest Asari Dokubo, Tompolo,Boylop and other Niger Delta militants for making reckless statements, which in any way does not mean keeping Nigeria as one entity and creating war situation,” the former general had said. Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State has called on Nigerians to vote out President Goodluck Jonathan over his inability to achieve anything meaningful since he assumed office six years ago. The Lagos State governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN, yesterday, made the disclosure at the 8th Annual Lagos State taxation Stakeholders’ conference held in Ikeja, accused Jaykay Pharmacy, owned and managed by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Jimi Agbaje of owing the state N1.6 million as unpaid land use charges. But in a swift reaction, Mr Agbaje faulted the claims made by the governor that his company defaulted in the payment of the land use charge. Fashola, who explained that Land Use Charge, LUC, was a consolidated tax combining ground rent and tenement rate, said: “Tax is prescribed by the 1999 constitution. It states that it shall be the duty of every citizen to declare its income to the appropriate and lawful agency; and pay the required tax promptly.” Accusing Agbaje’s pharmacy of defaulting in the payment of land use charge to the coffers of the state, the governor said, “you will remember that in 2007, he (Jimi Agbaje) claime
