Soldier, 50 others killed in Taraba

According to a Vanguard report, no fewer than 50 people, including a soldier, were reportedly killed and several others injured in Wukari, the headquarters of Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State yesterday, following a bloody clash between the Fulani herdsmen and Jukuns in the area. Places of worships were among several buildings that were burnt by the belligerent groups. The crises reportedly started Tuesday at 10a.m. at Nwokyo village, near Wukari town, last week. It was said the situation escalated when the Jukuns, who went on a reprisal attack, lost seven of their members Tuesday evening. The Jukuns in Wukari were alleged to have been further infuriated when they saw the corpses of their men being conveyed to the Wukari General Hospital morgue at 4.30p.m. and started attacking suspected Fulani or Muslims in the area. Residents allegedly catch mentally-challenged woman with N100,000, BlackBerry

According to a punch report, a woman said to be mentally-challenged escaped being lynched by an angry mob on Wednesday after she was allegedly caught with N100,000, two BlackBerry phones and an android phone. Punch correspondent, who visited the scene of the incident around Onabanjo Street, Oworonshoki, Lagos State, learnt that the incident occurred around 10am. Residents told PUNCH Metro that two ATM cards were also found on the woman. A resident, James Ogunkoya, told our correspondent that when some youths saw the woman with some money, they trailed her into a compound. Three die in US city shootings

Three people, including a man and his grandson, have been shot dead at a Jewish community site and a retirement home in Kansas City in the US Midwest. The shootings occurred at the Jewish Community Campus at Overland Park and a nearby assisted living centre, Village Shalom, local media said. Police said a suspect, a bearded white man in his 70s, was in custody. A local hospital said it was treating a teenage boy for a gunshot wound and that he was in a critical condition. Scores of people were killed and maimed as an early morning bomb explosion rocked a motor park in Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Monday. Nyanya is a satellite town bordering the FCT and Nasarawa State. The explosion reportedly occurred in a section of the park allocated to luxury buses popularly called “El-Rufa’i buses.” Worst hit was the area where vehicles plying Abuja- Ilorin-Kabba were parked. Pregnant Woman , Her 3 Year Old Daughter And 3 Others Die Of Electrocution

Five persons, including a pregnant woman were electrocuted on Thursday in Lagos after a PHCN high-tension cable fell, causing fire and explosion. An eyewitness told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident happened around 2.00 a.m. at Oworonshoki, Lagos. The source said that fire broke out when the cable fell on a Toyota Camry car loaded with petroleum products. The victims rushed out of their homes when they heard the explosion and ran into the live cable unknowingly. “As they rushed out, they all embraced the cable in front of their house and they were electrocuted. 37 people killed in fresh fighting in CAR

According to a punch report, at least 37 people died between Thursday and Friday during fighting between the anti-Balaka militia and ex- Seleka rebels in Central African Republic’s central town of Dekoa, a source from CAR Red Cross said.
