Governor-elect of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose, has explained why incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi is making a u-turn to reject the result of the 21 June, 2014, election in the state.According to Fayose, the new resolve by Governor Fayemi was to boost support forthe All Progressives Congress, APC’s suit at the election tribunal.Fayose, who spoke on Monday, 21 July, 2014 during a programme on “Progress FM,” a sister station of Radio Nigeria based in Ado-Ekiti, stated that Fayemi must have been advised to recant in ordernot to jeopardise the suit filed by the APC challenging the outcome of the election.“I think what went wrong was that APC and its leaders feel that by accepting defeat, Fayemi has shot their suit in the leg, but they are still wrong” * Fayose “Their case has nothing to stand on; they did the same thing in 2003 when I defeated one of their current chieftains, former governor Niyi Adebayo, and the eventual result was that they came back empty.“You will recall that APC won in on

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Gbenga Ogunfolabo in Ishara, Remo North Local Government Area of the state for allegedly stabbing his wife, 45-year-old Bosede, to death with a broken bottle.A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, OlumuyiwaAdejobi, on Tuesday, alleged that the suspect, a 47-year-old farmer stabbed Bosede to death during a fight between the couple on Wednesday last week butthe incident was not reported to the police as a result of family pressure.The PPRO said one of the relations of the deceased(name withheld) decided to report the matter to the police for thorough investigation before the suspected killer husband was arrested.The police explained that two of the couple eight children died as a result of an undisclosed sickness, adding that the husband reportedly started maltreating the wife, a petty trader, culminating in the fracas that claimed the life of Bosede.“The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Ikemefuna Okoye, has di
