Five Factors That Hinders Immediate Prayer Answering No 2 is important

I sometimes sit down by myself, wondering why sometimes life could be unfair. You would see a person good at praying and at the same time, a person who is averagely good in prayers and a person who is poorly good in it. It then amazes me sometimes to see the person whose prayer is poorly made come to past immediately while those good and average ones are yet to be answered then the good and average ones wondered what went wrong for them.

Well, this I made some research on and with the help of Fakayode Fayemi’s book titled “Iwure (effacious prayer to Olodumare the Supreme force)” I could get some answers to the hindrance of prayers. See below.

Ø Protection: Prayers are sometimes delayed because of your safety. Olodumare the Supreme Being may suspend the answering in order to protect the person against imminent evil that may follow the desire. In an Ifa verse, Ika-Ofun, Ifa talks about Esinsin (housefly) whom was seriously advised not to buy a slave he wanted to buy at a particular time, though money was available. Esinsin refused to heed to advise he went ahead in purchasing the slave. After some time spent with the slave at his house, the slave decided to kill him which he was successful in doing. Was it not better if his prayer was delayed or not answered than seeing the slave which led to his death? A person who prays to be rich and he got rich at the blink of an eye may find it difficult to enjoy his wealth as he may spend every dine of his wealth on sickness which may claim his life. Olodumare knows why he is delaying your prayers plus it is better for one’s prayer to be delayed than receiving a conditional blessing or blessings that bring along with problem.

Ø Human character:  This in the Yoruba dialect is called “IWA”. Human character, the bad character to be precise can hinder your prayers from immediate answering. As a person who wants his/her prayer and all the goodness of life to be his/hers must be of good character. Man’s destiny is influenced by his character, one has to be well behaved. Bad character can repel fortune in many ways taking for example, a person that is willing to render help to one will withdraw his willingness because of one’s bad character. Ifa plus the Orisa are against bad character. As a true devotee, you must stay away from bad character so as to avoid the Orisa anger. Human character is a factor that hinders immediate prayer answering and the only way out is to substitute your bad character for the good one.

Ø Unseen Negative Energy: This is a factor most people believe hinders their prayer request. Yes, they are right, there are some unseen forces or energies that work against efficacy of prayers among these are;
A] Ajogun ibi: these are forces that know nothing but evil, they are saddled with the responsibility of making life difficult for people. To defeat these forces Ebo and akose should be done.

B] Iyami Aje: This is also in this category of negative energy. This force, iyami Aje, though has many positive works also has many negative ones as well that works against human being as indicated in their Oriki (praise names). Appeasement is advised in this kind of situation.

C] Elenini (devil): All it does is evil. A very powerful force which must be pacified when necessary and fought if needed. This done by Ebo and akose (Ifa medicinal work).

D] Taboos: This also belongs to this category. Taboos are sometimes what is fighting one’s prayer from answering. A person may be eating what is against his destiny or doing what he is destined not to do and life becomes difficult in every way. The way out is to find out the taboos and stop eating them. How can you then find what your taboos are? Ifa initiation is the answer.

E] Egun (curse/spell): This is another force that works against effectiveness of one’s prayer. This curse could be directed to a person, parents or lineage, it must be casted away before one’s prayer can be effective. Egun could be from parents, any person offended or feel offended.

Ø Unrealistic Request: Some people do not cut the cloth to their size, they ask for things that they themselves know cannot happen, they ask for what is in the second stage, third stage when they have not even achieved or get through the first stage. A person who prays to be rich must have a work doing before asking for wealth, a person who does not have wife should get one before he prays for a child.
However, prayers must be realistic because unrealistic request is just like waiting for an aeroplane in the train station.

Ø Human Destiny: Lastly, human destiny, also one of the major factors of prayers hindrance. As explained by Fakayode Fayemi, it might be predestined that it is during one old age that one will be an owner of a house or mansion but the person will begin to pray for house right from his/her youth. It is because human beings are unaware of their destinies that they are enthusiastic towards achievements on earth. Human beings apportion blame the Orisa whenever they are unable to accomplish a thing. As seen in an Ifa verse (Obara-Ogunda), Mowunmi was longing for a child, she made ebos, prayers and all sort of Ifa medicines but all proved abortive. During that time of predicament, the message of Ifa to her was not to point accusing finger at any Orisa that the Orisa were playing their parts to gladden her but her destiny was not yet to allow the effectiveness of the prayers.

My dear readers, while longing for anything, one must not cease making ebo and prayer to Olodumare through the Orisa. I believe by now you must have known the reasons why your prayers are delayed and you must also have known the antidote to these above factors. May Olodumare grant us all our prayer requests in life. Thanks for reading.
