TAKING THE LONG WAY HOME OR 'WHY JESUS AIN'T WORKING FOR US!' (PART 2)

Recently i posted an article which was written by a "Maami  Wata Priestess " on
TAKING THE LONG WAY HOME OR 'WHY JESUS AIN'T WORKING FOR US!'
Remember she said she wasn't through with it yet.
Below is the concluding part.

"When the Missionaries arrived, the Africans had the Land and the Missionaries had the Bible. They taught us how to pray with our eyes closed. When we opened them, they had the land and we had the Bible." (Jomo Kenyatta, Desmond Tutu)

I know no other quote that expresses the sentiments that I am attempting to convey in these two related posts. And, please as a disclaimer, they are not about Christian bashing or race relations. I respect all religions. It is just that my destiny is tied to the African ancestor. But these posts ARE about SELF WORTH. And, they are particularly geared to those of obvious African descent. I can't do much about re-educating my African brothers and sisters. There are plenty born and bred Africans that are already doing that work. But, for the diasporan it is part of MY WORK and others like me.

So, I'm gonna say this and call it a day...
Who we are, as a people, did not begin on the shores of the diaspora or in the Americas in bondage. It began with that first African man and woman to which all other humans and races flowed. And, just because we were branded as slaves and forced into servitude does not mean that we are an inferior people. In fact, that we were the ultimate survivors of this 'inhumanity to man' only serves as proof of our tough stock.

But, now the oppressor's psychological bondages and his RELIGION must come off for those who are destined. For deep within us is ancestral memory. This memory is indelibly tied to our original homeland. Let none of these bought into our spiritual system folks tell you any different! This is your birthright! It is not a separate lineage! It is the same as originally bought here by our ancestors but severely hampered by the slave experience.

Our Haitian brothers and sister have kept it alive; so, now it is up to us to complete the transition. Therefore, you must remember that while the enslaver bound our hands and feet, he could not and did not bind that ancestor or personal divinity born and living within you. THEY, at the appropriate times, are waking their children. And, let me tell you what the spirits say my brothers and sisters. Of all of the priests and priestesses of the world, WE of the African priesthood, reign supreme! I mean no disrespect to other spiritual systems; but, the fact is that there are none others that can compare to what an ordained African priest or priestess can do! We hold the powers of the universe in the palms of our hands.

But, it is based on birthright and an intimate relationship with the spirits which dwell within us according to their tenets not ours. For we are a ROYAL people and a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD! We are the firstborns of the CREATOR(S). So, why give that up for anything less!

SO STAND UP MY BRETHREN! UNSHACKLE THE PSYCHOLOGICAL CHAINS THAT BIND YOU! DISCOVER WHO AND WHAT YOU ARE! You owe it to yourselves, to humanity and to all of those who came before you and sacrificed their lives that you may live.

[Cinque to John Quincy Adams, La AMISTAD (1997) ] I will call to the past, far back to the beginning of time, and beg them [my ancestors] to come and help me at the judgment. I will reach back and draw them into me, and they must come, for at this moment, I am the whole reason they have existed at all.
